Dog Product Reviews

We publish dog product reviews conducted unscientifically by us and other dog owners. All products have been used in real-life situations. We provide information about the dog(s) who tested each product and accurate information about how well the product performed.Aussie Red Ball

FAQ

What kind of products do you review?

We seek real-life product reviews of dog products: toys, treats, beds, clothing items, problem solvers and other items. We publish reviews when we feel that a dog owner’s real-life experiences with that product would be beneficial to our visitors, or would help them decide if that product would be right for their dogs.

Reviews must provide relevant and useful information about the features of the product. Does it work? How thoroughly was it tested? How long does it last? We examine qualities such as taste, comfort, durability, wear and appeal. An example of something we would not review is greeting cards.

How do I submit a product review?

Contact me at lisa@funstufffordogs.com. Tell me which product you’d like to review, how long you’ve been using it, and how many dogs have been using it and a short sentence about what you think of it (you can even say “I like it” or “I was disappointed.”). If it fits our needs, I’ll email you with a form to fill out, then I’ll post your review!

Do you publish responses from manufacturers whose products have been reviewed?

Yes. If you’re a manufacturer whose product was reviewed on this blog, you may send a response to lisa@funstufffordogs.com. I will review your response and if I feel you have additional information that would be helpful to our readers, I will publish it.

Example: A reviewer finds that a plush toy does not last as long as the she thinks it should. The manufacturer contacts us to say that the toy was not meant to be a chew toy, or left unattended with a dog. In this case, we would publish that information so that dog owners would know how to properly use that toy.

Do you only review products sold on one of your websites?

No. The Dog Product Reivews are intended to be a helpful guide to dog owners as they shop for products for their dogs. Although we sell products that we believe in, we do not restrict product reviews to products we sell. Not all popular products are approprate for our websites.

For example, we cannot compete on price with Wal-Mart for products such as Kong toys. However, if Kong comes out with a product that you would like to review, we feel that there are enough visitors who would be interested in another dog owner’s experience with a popular product to justify publishing a review.

As another example, we do not sell dog food, but would publish a review of a dog food if we felt the revew was thorough, objective and would be of interest to other visitors.

Do you reject unfavorable reviews of products you sell?

No. Our objective is to share information. If a reviewer finds that a certain product we sell is not appropriate for larger dogs, for example, we feel that’s valuable information to share with other dog owners.

One customer told us that a certain ”chew” was consumed too quickly and thought it should be more of a treat than a chew. That’s good feedback. We want to inform dog owners as consumers.

NOTE: Product reviews are inteded solely as anecdotal consumer information, and are not intended to promote any particular dog products. We receive no compensation for reviews. We purchase all products on our sites. Although we do not have a Consumer Reports-type laboratory in which to scientifically test products, we feel that normal use “in the field” by other dog owners is valuable and sharing that information is what our product reviews are all about.

I’ve had my two babies, Lady Sasha and King Hamilton III for 4 years now. I recently discovered Espree from this beautiful little dog boutique by the Bay. All I can say is…exceptional! Since using Silky Show with calming water fragrance, I confidently walk down the Castro strip while all the attention is on me and my babies. We’ve had many showstoppers since using Silky Show with Calming Water Fragrance. I can’t reveal my sources but I happen to know that Paris Hilton uses this product on Tinkerbell. The only downfall is Lady Sasha attracts so much attention that she has been mounted one too many times. The fragrance is so intoxicating to the human senses that I tried it on myself; and let me tell you what, it was just fabulous. It’s not something for all occasions, but on the extra special occasions, it really gives you that extra sheen. Two thumbs up!

I just started my web site and would like to get my products reviewed by you. We make large and giant breed dog clothes, which are hard to find items. We specialize in “stylish” items for the big dogs.

I bought a mini Orka dog bone for my 7 month old Yorkie. Within the first 2 minutes my pup had it destroyed in to three pieces. I have bought other Orka toys and they were fine. I think these were defective.
